Non-Profit Partners Using the Reality Center
Reality Ministries seeks to offer the Reality Center as a venue for other local non-profits or like mind and similar mission, for the common good and community renewal of Durham County.
For Special Needs Populations:
- BounceBack Kids, social and recreational programs for 3-21 year olds with serious illnesses
- Power of the Dream, vocational training for high school and young adults with developmental disabilities
- Rock the Pulse, music therapy for teens with autism
- Time Bank USA, facilitating the investment of time and skills in the service of neighbors in need
- Arc of Durham, providing activities and programs for persons with developmental disabilities;
- Autism Support and Advocacy Center, offering a summer day camp for teens with autism
- First in Families of NC, developing social networks and services for persons with developmental disabilities and their families
- Durham Parks and Recreation/Special Programs, providing inclusive events and meals for families in Durham’s Special Programs
- L’Arche, an international ecumenical group establishing inclusive living communities
For Underserved Populations:
- Urban Hope, a discipleship and recreational program for middle school students in Walltown area of Durham
- Pregnancy Support Services, offering free pregnancy testing and counseling
- JusticeMatters, Inc. a free legal aid clinic and consultations with lawyers
- NC Cooperative Extension – CAPS, free Algebra 1 workshops and bus fare provisions
- Big Brothers/Sisters, matching up mentors with after school students
- 21st Century Foundation, an educational support program offered with NCCU
- Center for Psychological and Family Services, providing free psychological counseling and guidance for after schools students
- Central and Eastern NC Food Bank, providing various food options for our student lunches and after school snacks
With Schools and Churches:
- Duke Divinity School, providing internships, volunteers and a diversity of artistic and academic programs
- Durham Academy, providing teams of students for our after school students and for their school’s community service hours
- Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill, helping us establish a high school class for their service learning program
- Duke Chapel (Pathways Program), providing summer interns for various RM activities
- Durham School of the Arts, an on-going cooperative effort between RM and DSA’s counseling and administrative offices, athletic teams and teaching staff
- Emmaus Way, providing volunteers, and meeting at the RC each week for services
- The Gathering Church, providing financial support, volunteers and musical events
- Blacknall Presbyterian Church, providing financial support, volunteers, and strategic assistance with our Disabilities programs
- Grace Baptist Church (Durham Rescue mission), a church meeting at the RC at least twice per week
