We Desire…
- To share the personal love of God with adolescents through meaningful, lasting friendships.
- To provide a sense of unconditional belonging to teenagers with different backgrounds and abilities.
- To encourage adolescents to live Christ-centered lives in their families, schools, and community.
- To send throughout the world young men and women who are equipped with “a hope and a future.”
Purpose
In Reality Ministries we especially want to reflect the heart of Jesus for those who are disenfranchised and marginalized due to poverty, violence, and lack of opportunity, as well as people with special needs. We will investigate the possibilities of ministering to orphans, foster kids, and the incarcerated. Our desire is to begin with “the least of
these” – young people who are overlooked, ignored, voiceless and otherwise on the fringes of societal significance and ministry outreach.
Our starting point with young people who are on the margins will be complemented by our efforts on the other side of the spectrum, with those who are more privileged and entitled. In the teenage world racial, social, educational, intellectual and physical boundaries are too easily left unchallenged. In Reality Ministries we anticipate bringing
our young friends together to break down these barriers in constructive ways that speak of the Kingdom of God.
How exactly do we do this? It begins with strong leadership. Our leaders are committed to the Biblical concept of “going deep with a few,” a principle that applies to evangelism as well as to discipleship. When a Reality leader develops a strong circle of influence with his or her young friends, the leader will be able to shepherd them in positive directions and across intimidating thresholds. All of our programming events are geared to assist in this process.
